Fees & Engagement Process

Brodie Tax & Accounting provides tax preparation, bookkeeping, tax planning, and advisory services for individuals and small business owners. Fees are based on the scope, complexity, and condition of the records provided.

Before any work begins, you will receive a clear quote or engagement terms based on your specific needs.

How Pricing Works

Every engagement is different. Pricing depends on factors such as the number of forms involved, bookkeeping quality, business activity, prior year issues, and whether cleanup or tax planning is needed.

Some services may be billed as a flat fee, while others are quoted after review. Ongoing bookkeeping, advisory, and monthly support are typically offered under a recurring service arrangement.

Typical Services

Tax Preparation

Preparation of individual and business tax returns, including more complex filings involving self-employment income, K-1s, multi-state activity, and entity returns.

Bookkeeping & Cleanup

Monthly bookkeeping, catch-up work, reconciliations, and financial organization for businesses that need accurate records and reliable reporting.

Tax Planning & Advisory

Proactive tax planning, entity structure guidance, and ongoing advisory support for business owners who want clear financial direction throughout the year.

IRS & State Notices

Assistance with IRS and state tax notices, delinquent returns, penalty issues, and other compliance matters.

Starting Fee Guidelines

  • Individual tax returns: generally start at $350+
  • Self-employed / Schedule C returns: generally start at $550+
  • Business returns (1120-S, 1065, 1120): generally start at $1,500+
  • Amended or prior year returns: quoted based on complexity
  • Bookkeeping cleanup and IRS notice work: quoted after review

These are general starting points only. Final pricing depends on the scope of work and records provided.

What to Expect

We keep pricing clear and straightforward. Once your information is reviewed, you will receive a defined quote, engagement letter, or service proposal before work begins.

If records require significant cleanup, reconstruction, or additional support beyond the original scope, that work will be discussed and approved in advance.
